The California Travel and Tourism Commission offers two free marketing tools to the hospitality industry, local communities, and destinations:

  • What’s New in California, quarterly newsletter that is distributed to over 3,000 media outlets and travel journalists worldwide, and
  • VisitCalifornia.com, the state’s official tourism website.

[1] About CTTC

What’s New in California covers seasonal activities and events, and news from the state’s hospitality industry. Read the latest [2] What’s New.

Submission deadlines are generally three months prior to the publication date, ie the deadline for the autumn issue of “What’s New” is mid-June, and the winter deadline is mid-September.

Items should be no more than 200 words, and include contact information for the sponsoring business or organization.

Contact:

Amanda Moreland, 916/319-5427 or amoreland@visitcalifornia.com.

VisitCalifornia.com has a “content submission tool” that allows California destinations, event producers, and travel-related businesses to get items listed on the state’s official tourism website. The commission hopes the tool will help promote various market niches, such as rural and heritage tourism.

The CTTC plans to use some of the submissions in other publications and promotional material, such as the quarterly “What’s New in California.”

To get your item considered for inclusion of the website, complete the form at [3] VisitCalifornia.com/content.
