At the October 2005 Sierra Business Council conference, a group formmed to promote sustainable tourism based on the arts, heritage, range and agricuture. This group of businesses, artists, farmers and ranchers, visitors bureaus, representatives of local government and native tribes has continued to meet.

As a next step, the group will hold a workshop on Developing Tourism Opportunities Workshop Wednesday and Thursday, June 7 and 8, 2006, in Placerville.
